Caroline was born in Washington, DC and raised in suburban Maryland. She graduated from Vassar College in 1997 with a degree in Political Science. Before entering law school, she worked on Capitol Hill, for several non-profits and for a congressional campaign. While in law school, Caroline was the Student Notes Editor for the Texas Environmental Law Journal and the Fundraising Chair for the Women's Law Caucus. Caroline received her law degree in 2002.

Prior to Rosenthal & Watson, Caroline was an Associate Attorney at The Carlson Law Firm, P.C. (formerly Smith and Carlson, P.C.) where she managed the South Austin office and practiced Personal Injury Law. Caroline has helped hundreds of clients injured by the negligence of others. Her cases have included auto collisions, product defects and premises cases.

Caroline is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Austin Young Lawyers Association, the Travis County Women Lawyers' Association and the State Bar of Texas.

Caroline has been happily married to Scott Garrison for years, and the couple are parents to two children.
